Had the infamous DSC light problem in my 2001 BMW Z 3.0i. The light would stay on constantly. Using a diagnostic tool I found that the yaw rate sensor had failures. Replacement was pretty easy. Just move the drivers seat off the bolts, pull back the front carpet a little and open the triangular plastic cover. 2 nuts and an electric connector are all that hold in.

Yaw rte speed sensor for a 2001 BMW M3 Convertible; located in a "must break location" by the factory - moisture and electronics don't like each other - and BMW is cashing in on that fact by putting the sensor in a location where it has to get wet; new one's are readily available AT A COST..... Found this one on the internet, had a very good experience with the supplier and drive around now with a smile on my face!

The sensor worked immediately upon installation. Although used, it was in great condition. The price was a fraction of the cost in comparison to cost of a new unit. Excellent value!
