It's a shame that Apple has discontinued this device. The replacement is unnecessarily large and is missing the clip that can be used to fasten the device to wherever you wish to wear it. Apple should re-introduce the 6th generation iPod nano and for people who think it's too small, introduce the pedometer and FM radio functions to the iPod touch. I wear my 6th generation nano because it is so inconspicuous and carry an iPod touch for when I want a larger screen or the WiFi and other functionalities.

This ipod is small, compact, and certainly easy to workout with and run with BUT it is cumbersome to operate. I've never been a big fan of ipods, perhaps this is why. The operation of this thing is just silly. There are too many functions that require 2 finger swiping, or 2 finger sliding, or 2 finger twisting...the menu is ridiculous to navigate and the default settings reset from time to time. I would prefer a straightforward mp3 player with a few more buttons that equate to much simpler and faster navigating.. The seller here though was great with communicating and shipping.

I have previously owned a first generation ipod touch so I purchased this for a change since I got sick of carrying something the size of a phone just for tunes. I really fancy the features this product has for something its size. The ability to shake/double press the wake button to change song make it quite handy as well. Furthermore, I love the fact that I can turn it into a button pin by clipping it to the neck of my shirt and play the photo slideshow. The battery life is outstanding if you listen to local files (songs stored on the device) but it is much shorter if you are as big a live radio fan as I am. The device does not support videos or games and I could imagine it not being able to accommodate those features very well with the tiny screen it has anyway. All in all, I think it is an impressive little "music player" that is so light and convenient to carry around since most smart phones we have these days already satisfy our craves for mini games and handy apps.Read full review
The small size is nice as it doesn't take up a lot of space and clips easily to a shirt pocket which works great for me. If you have large hands like I do definitely buy the stylus, it makes it easier to make selections. The AM/FM radio is a plus. The one thing I would like to see is some kind of lock to prevent unwanted changes when handling, I often had problems with it skipping fwd or back when removing it from my pocket, again having large hands exacerbates this issue. The after market screen protectors use a film and a separate plastic frame that holds the edges of the film to the Ipod, would be nice to see something that is all in one. I found that I cannot leave the earphone plugged in and use the computer linking cable at the same time, there isn't enough room for both side by side. Maybe different earphone jacks are smaller and might resolve this prob. I've been using this since I bought it and haven't had to stop to charge if so far. I bought this originally to download audio books and so far have been satisfied with how it works to go directly to what I'm looking for.Read full review
This is a beautifully engineered product, which just works like most apple products. Has lots of neat features like volume limiting to ensure you don't destroy your ears when you are on a train or loud area. Battery life suffers when you play around with the nifty touch screen too much, but the hard volume buttons and double click to next track are awesome advancements. So small and light it is unbelievable it can hold thousands of songs. Expensive, but was if you can get a deal or use a gift card, well worth it.
