    Enjoyable movie.

Was not disappointed when I rewatched this movie. It was funny and cute. Alicia Silverstone and Brendan Fraser, as well Christopher Walken, and Sissy Spacek are great in this movie. I love the ‘old fashioned’ way about it, contrasting today’s society with the good manners, and morals of a 1950’s upbringing. Well worth watching.

    Blast From The Past

"Blast From The Past" Pretty good movie. It's one of those movies that you can take out once in a while and enjoy it from time to time... sort of like "Land Of The Lost", "Journey To Mysterious Island" Journey To The Center Of The Earth" (The newer versions of those movies).

  • Need a break from life's challenges? Sit Back put your feet up and let go!

Blast from the Past is my 'go to' movie when I need to laugh and be uplifted! It's corny, quirky slapstick comedy is what makes it shine! You put all reason aside while watching "BECAUSE YOU MUST" and because the movie somehow gives you permission to do so. You play along because it's fun! A great movie to forget your troubles and just laugh. Christopher Walken does what he does best, Sissy Spacek rarely seen in a comedic role is hilarious both playing the corny parents. Brendan Fraser in his best role and Alicia Silverstone plays a great straight 'man'...Just sit back with a bowl of popcorn and allow yourself to be taken away.

  • Blast From the Past (DVD, 1999)

Sit down and hold on tight and just enjoy the Nuts in this movie... Ya gotta love Walken and Spacek as "Mom and Dad". Absolutely hilarious! This probably tickles my funny-bone more as a baby-boomer and having lived through the 50's and 60's concern over "The Bomb" and the seriousness of that time. So this movie resonates on that level and elevates the humor in a ridiculous -over the top way- that just keeps you laughing. Fraser is great in this and really delivers the character as you'd hope. Kind of makes you wish our culture would learn a thing or two about civility. Very entertaining and loads of laughs! Enjoy!

  • Blast From the Past (DVD, 1999)

In 1962, my junior high school science roject was to build a model fall-out shelter, complete with lists of supplies for 30 years underground. My father, who was a scientist, hung out with a bunch of guys who so closely resemble Calvin Weber (Christopher Walken) that I was startled to see him in the movie. These guys built hi-fis and robots in their basements for fun; and yes, my parents listened to Perry Como! BFTP portrays the essence of those times fondly and with a pointed humor. Both Sissy Spacek (the mother) and Christopher Walken (the father) do beautifully comic turns in this film as a couple having retreated to their fall-out shelter for a 35 year stay in the mistaken belief that Los Angeles has been bombed. Brendan Fraser's performance as the bright but impossibly naiive Adam ...
