return shipping is too expensive, so make the best of owning it
As they say, you get what you paid for. This product is worth the money only if you're willing and able to go thru the hussle of operating this toy. Don't put high hopes on Owner's manual. It's useless. While the technical support won't help you unless you first give up your private information about yourself. Only then the person with an Indian accent will tell you that you need to buy a memory card in order to turn camera ON. After shopping for a memory card, I was glad to make it on time for my kid's karate presentation. Armed with my new purchase I proudly pointed at my kid and pushed the RED button to record the emotional event. To my surprise I realized afterwords that nothing else got recorded except for my shoes and the carpet. But it was too late. Back home I figured out that ... As they say, you get what you paid for. That's why I was recording my shoes during the brake when I was pointing down and thinking that the camera was in PAUSE mode.. And don't make me start about transfering files to your computer. Good luck with that! Fortunately I can do a trick by taking out the memory card and copying it directly in my computer's card reader, since I'm lucky to have one! Otherwise, you'll have to pay somebody else to do it for you...

Excellent Value, Great all around HD DVR Camcorder
-I bought this camcorder as a Christmas gift for my son and we have both enjoyed using it. -Very intuitive controls and easy to use. -Picture quality is pretty good, when shooting in high def the picture isn't quite as sharp as I would like but for the money it is great. -Very impressed with everything about this camcorder. -Super lightweight and compact, which makes it easy to take with you no matter where you are going. Doesn't work properly. Battery dies as soon as my son turns it on. Not worth the money. Cheap quality. I will not recommend this camera.
