    Unmatched value from a mainstream product!

    Ever since the introduction of this newer line of type-r's I was immediately interested. This is the first time Alpine offered an 8" version in the type-r and boy did they do a great job! This lil' sub is a grand performer. I have great interest in 8" subs and have used many to date. This takes the cake for what it's worth. The bottom line for me is getting as much sound for as little space I am offered. This type-r digs very low and very loud. It handles an astonishing 350 watts RMS. This level of power is often associated with 10" subs and beyond. I have this setup in a ported enclosure and it beats as loud as the kicker L7 8" yet the cone area is smaller than the square area of the kicker.     GREAT TOP OF THE LINE SPEAKER

    THIS BABY REALLY KICKS WHEN I HOOKED IT UP TO MY 2 PEAVEY WOOFERS 12 INCHS IT REALLY MADE IT SOUND BETTER I WILL BUY MORE. IF U WANT A TOP OF THE MARKET SPEAKER FOR A CAR OR TRUCK OR U MAY HAVE A HOME AUDIO SYSTEM IF U DO THEN BUY A ALPINE U WONT GO WRONG - AND ITS EASY TO INSTALL

    Doesn't know it is an 8"!

    An 8" that thinks its a 12" sub. I have two of these in a bandpass box running at 300 RMS each from an Alpine PDX-F6 in two channel mode in a 2012 Smart Car. I have to keep the bass turned all the way down during normal listening. When I put the bass up I cannot see out of any of the mirrors! Big Boom in a small package!

    high end sub at a fantastic price

    amazing sounding sub for the price replaced the stock sub in my Jaguar and what a sound clear as best investment for perfect sound
