Although long-since discontinued, this Sony portable DVD does a fine job. The image is clear and smooth, thanks to the 800x480 resolution on a 9" (diagonal) display. The speakers, being small, are just general purpose. Headphones are the preferred audio output, and there are two headphone jacks. The DVD-FX930 battery easily powers a 2-hour DVD with power to spare. The battery pack snaps on and off, requiring no tools. The remote control (RMT-D191) is very handy. There are A/V connectors for external connections. Blu-ray are not supported. CDs are supported.

I think the quality of this refurbished unit is very good!! The quality of the picture, and particularly the sound is excellent. I have had other players before, but always experienced problem with the playback with many of the DVD's. I have played 50 or so DVD with no playback issues. Also, the battery life far exceeds any other player I have had in the past. It would venture to say that the battery has a life on a single charge of a minimum of 3 hours!! The only negative I can say is that it is meat and potatoes model with very few extra features-ie. no offer of various aspects for example.
I bought this DVD player specifically for a long car ride that was necessary to move from Florida to Georgia. I like the screen size, the most. The 9 inch display is definitely a plus for some SpongeBob SquarePants action in the back seat. Not very much to dislike about this player, considering it's low cost and extra long battery life. Following the move, I was required to go on a business trip and took it along with me on a flight from Georgia to California. I literally had it on from the time the flight attendant "OK'ed" electronic devices till it was time to shut them down again, there and back. I totally forgot to charge it while I was there for a week. The battery never died on the flight home, even though I feared it might. It was definitely a pleasant surprise.
This DVP works very well including being able to plug in two sets of headphones and actually hear both of them. The buttons are hard to use with your fingers because the screen is in the way but the remote works well and gives me more control of the machine when grandsons are watching in the back seats and are arguing over which to play next or when traffic gets very busy. The large size makes it difficult to find a case/cover to protect it but I use a laptop sleve for 10" laptops. Mine has a pocket for the remote and the headphones. The car charger rides around in the console with all the other chargers. Overall I am very happy with this DVP, especially its sound.
I initially purchased this DVD player in 2009 to take on a trip to China. It kept us occupied when we had time to kill at airports, a long bus ride, or a free evening after a tiring day when we just wanted to kick back and relax ~ we also became real popular with our fellow travelers' kids. It's easy to use and the image quality is good... unless you are in the sun. This product still gets use almost daily by someone in the household; everything still works but I happened to see this unused FX930 on Ebay. Since this product is no longer available in stores and nothing lasts forever, I decided to pick up another one. :)
