  • The band at its heaviest rock n roll peak!

This is my second favorite REO release, just barely behind the 1978 title "You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish". Both "Nine Lives" from 1979 and the Tuna release from a year ealier found the band still playing harder edged guitar driven rock n roll. This was the last studio release before the "Hi Infidelity" release stormed them directly to the top of the charts and took them from a popular "touring the clubs act" right onto the arena filling "power pop" stage of the 1980's. If you like great lyrics that tell a good story, driving lead guitar and excellent percussion then you'll love this cd.

  • Great Old Time Rock And Roll !!

We often forget how much we enjoyed music of the past when we havn't heard it in a very long time. Way back in the day this was one of those albums I played often. I have always like REO Speedwagon very much. Alot of their music stands the test of time with me: You Can Tune A Piano, But You Cant Tuna Fish, Live; You Get What You Play for, Hi Infidelity, etc. When I noticed this CD up for auction on eBay I realized I hadn't heard it in a long time, but I remembered that I like it very much way back then. So I bought it and was very glad that I did. This is the original band with Gary richwrath playing guitar, he shreds and has a great style. REO Speedwagon has been bashed by many critics and ratings. But they are a band that you either like or hate. I happen to like them and this is a very ...

  • Great product at a great price.

Great album. Not a lot of big hits, but their most rocking overall. Gary Richrath is the guitar man! The new guitarist that came after him has such a different style that they sound like a different band and are a disappointment to see live.

  • Nine Lives by REO Speedwagon

Nine Lives is the eighth studio album by REO Speedwagon. The title Nine Lives was chosen because the album was the band's ninth, including their live album, and it also featured nine songs. It was the last REO album to prominently feature a more hard rock sound. The group would turn to more pop-oriented material with 1980's Hi Infidelity.

  • One of REO's best kept secrets ~!

The whole album is awesome, defines the late 70's sound without the disco ! I met Singer Kevin Cronin(very friendly) in a bar (Gatorz) in SW Florida in 1994,I asked what his favorite album they did was. He said The Tuna album '78 was his favorite, but Nine lives'79 was close behind.
