About this product

Product Information

A FIRST COURSE IN THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD provides a simple, basic approach to the course material that can be understood by both undergraduate and graduate students without the usual prerequisites (i.e. structural analysis). The book is written primarily as a basic learning tool for the undergraduate student in civil and mechanical engineering whose main interest is in stress analysis and heat transfer. The text is geared toward those who want to apply the finite element method as a tool to solve practical physical problems.

The author presented topics in a simple and easy-to-follow way and provided subsequently proper derivation or illustration to enhance students' understanding. I cannot find a textbook which is better than this one in the field of finite element method., Logan has a very easy-to-read style, while retaining the precision and clarity of engineering topics without being dry., Logan does a very good job of keeping things simple and straight forward. Fairly well written using a simple approach without extensive theoretical and mathematical theory. The text is very complete.

Although the item arrived damaged because of improper packaging, and the seller did not respond to my two messages, I'm still leaving positive feedback. I should be able to rescue the parts I needed from it.

  • The the allocation country covered by sticker

Since I receive the book, I found the dedication country is stickered. It's not International version, actually only for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. I also found the paper is really thin, and you can see the pages before in the next pages. I didn't check the total pages yet. But, it's really cheap. Hopefully I'm not arrested if use this book outside the countries above.
