Great use as the dual band gives options. I relabeled SSID and passwords. Using the USB port on back with a multi GB flash drive for music and some quick photo storage and sharing for project. Also back up on external HDD, but leave what I want to use. Unsure on the maximum readable drive size of the USB, since a external drive did not get recognized. Maybe a power issue. Otherwise we'll usable and I am still receiving 66mbs DL speed with this. Connection to router with Ethernet cable, not wifi, foes read at GB speeds, if you device can process that fast, but is worthy of a great thumbs up.

The simultaneous dual wireless net works very good. Despite the internal antennas, the 2.4G range is even better than my old Dlink DIR 300 router which have an external 5dbi antenna. The file transfer to USB is a good feature, supports NTFS, but the speed is a real issue. Transfer large files like movies is annoying, but it can work fine to backup things like photos or docs on a external device. The DLNA server is no good, works fine with 700MB AVI files, but fails to work with 720p / 1080p videos; a lot of codecs are not supported also. In my opinion, to be 'the' device, it needed a built-in modem, a better DLNA server, improve the USB transfer speed and add printer capability. I will try it latter after upgrading the internal OS to DD-WRT.
This is, by far, the best home product Cisco have ever designed and produced. I bought this product after reading its specs on Cisco website. After my loyal Trendnet TEW finally stopped working, this was the better option: Since I use constantly apps like skype, netflix, Xbox Live and normally had to keep a PC on use to maintain my data shared to my home network, I needed some heavy artillery. And this product is, by far, the best option. Two ranges helps you keep a strong WiFi signal; lets you use this router in a WPA Enterprise environment; filters the broadband to keep your main apps running (yes, I've experienced the torture of talking to skype in an important business appointment with bad quality because your moron brother is watching some nasty HD porn). Also, the USB Port is a very useful thing: I use a 500 GB USB disk attached to it with excellent results. Highly recomended!! Just a recomendation, read carefully the manual and call the Cisco Info Line to get help on configuration.Read full review
I was looking for a new router to replace my old draft N wireless router. I came across this sleek little number with 2 different bands, network 450 Mbps transfer speed and usb connectivity for printers/peripheral devices. My old unit kept dropping out and reconnecting during peek hours or high usage. I do some gaming and also run a game server from time to time and need something that is reliable and my old system just wasn't cutting it. This Linksys E4200 has been living up to its hype. Data transfer has been seamless and constant while my online activities have been running non-interrupted since I started using this equipment. Although the price is still high I don't believe there is a similar featured item out there as yet, so your getting the best available and most reliable item on the market today. I haven't found anything to complain about, minus the price, and I've only been running it for about a month, but if it keeps up its' current performance I'll remain a happy customer. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who uses high bandwidth and it's very good for streaming video wirelessly from my computer to the TV.Read full review
