Product Information

Based on a hit manga by Obana Miho, the shojo anime series KODOCHA offers a charming chronicle of childhood friendships and rivalries told through a girl's point of view. The series centers around Sana Kurata, the precocious 11-year-old child star of a popular television show who nonetheless attends grade school as a normal student. But Sana's attempt at normalcy is threatened by the juvenile antics of school bully Akito Hayama, who leads the classroom's boys in a distracting campaign of chaos and mayhem. With the help of the girls in her class and her slick, show-biz manager Rei, Sana launches an all-out battle of the preteen sexes that yields moments of goodnatured hijinks as well as unexpected romance. This collection presents the anime series' first six volumes.

    I can’t say enough good things about this anime!

    Growing up I had a hard time identifying with peers and in general finding sense of self. Then a friend of my mom’s recommended this anime and it’s still among my favorites, even after 14 years later of anime-watching. It’s strange that so few people know this series, even in Japan the last time I visited. Definitely anyone who needs a good laugh and a foundation for solid life lessons needs to see this anime. I loved it so much I named my cat after Natsumi Hayama, Akito’s onee-san. Now I’m passing this series to my imouto, my little sister. I have every intention of passing it on down to my children as well. It’s timeless, relatable, hysterically funny, and insightful. Everyone who watches it can identify with at least one character from this series.

    Loads of fun!

    This series is great! Based off of the ten volume manga, (Kodocha No Omocha (ie Child's Toy) by Miho Obana) this box set tells the first half of the story of Sana Kurata, child actor. It's a classic hate-turns-to-love sort of story, but it has so many laughs along the way! Also, the English dub of this series has several of the same voice actors as Fruits Basket (another shoujo series) including Laura Bailey (Tohru Honda/Sana Kurata) and Jerry Jewell (Kyo Sohma/Akito Hayama). The animation and voice work are both very well done, I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves shoujo/romance stories and laughing at the same time!

    Kodocha

    Kodocha is the best Comedy/romance anime ever! At first I thought this anime was kind of immature and a little silly. But once I started to watch it more I relized it was really mature and not silly at all. I love the characters. Sana is just so crazy you cant help but like her. And akito is just so cute! This anime is great for kids and adults. Check it out give it a chance. Because this anime really is just that great! : )

    ok i like it so muck i want to find the 2nd box set but there is not one at all. you just get the first two dvd and a stuff toy waaaaaaaaa. i am still looking for 9-13 if anyone has them let me know all in a group not spearte

    This box set is great if you love Kodocha! Any fan or non-fan will love it forever! I bought it because I've already watched some episodes on tv, but I bet even those that haven't watched it yet will fall in love with the characters all the same!
