We just adopted a new small dog who gets cold very easy even in the middle of the summer so she needed a heated bed. We have another medium dog that gets cold and has a heated bed with the heat pad built in. When looking for another heated bed, the K&H Pet Bed Warmer came up as the best search result. So far it has worked great. You have to have a dog bed that you can physically unzip and insert the bed warmer inside the bed. You don't want it directly against your dog's skin. You will have to measure your dog's bed and make sure you purchase the size that will fit your dog's bed. Then you just plug it in and when they are laying in the bed I think the temp is around 102 degrees F. Our dog absolutely loves it so far. Now where I live it hasn't gotten very cold yet. Hopefully it keeps her warm enough once winter arrives or else she will be in our bed covered up.Read full review

It took a while before our cat discovered this. The pillow in her bed is pretty thick to put this under, so I sandwiched this in between a folded, lightweight airline blanket in her bed and put a piece of fake fur on top of that so she couldn't claw through it. Initially I didn't think it worked, since it didn't feel warm at all. However, one morning I felt it after she got out and noticed it was pleasantly warm. Another day, it felt cold after she got out. This has been the pattern. So today I removed it and placed it on the kitchen counter in the blanket, plugged it in and placed an outdoor thermometer under it. After about 4 hours, the temperature topped out at 107.4 degrees. The room temp has been between 61 and 63 degrees. I am not sure if this is the way it is supposed to work. I thought I read that it warmed about 10 degrees over the room temperature. I don't want the cat to get burned, but it doesn't seem to hold a consistent temperature. It is plugged/unplugged at nearly the same times. I plan on going to the company website and look into this since I didn't see a phone number anywhere.Read full review

I purchased this identical item a few months ago. I noticed that the first one stayed warm overnight, but then seemed to shut off by midmorning, as if it was on a timer. The new one stays warm all the time. I plan to call the manufacturer to follow up on this. It is a good product, at a reasonable price, especially good during cold weather. I put a blanket on top of it to protect it in case the cat starts kneading.

these pads have saved manya ferret lives. We have done ferret rescue for 24 years with all the ups and downs of sick ferrets. But after using pet bed warmers, it has made a difference between life and death and whether they could be saved. It is so important to keep them temperature up where it belongs, every small pet owner should have one of these. The difference in it and any heating pad is that it never gets too hot, it stays the same as pet temperatures, does not cut off every couple of hours, it will make a difference in caring for your pet.

After the Pet Bed Warmer had been heating for about half an hour I placed my cat on it. She touched it several times with her paw, then stroked it several times, then curled up on it! She loves it!
