    • Good card, bad heatsink...

The ASUS CuCore HD5770 boasts a 850MHz core clock, 1200MHz memory clock with 1GB of GDDR5 memory on board. Overall it's a good card for the buck. Unfortunately the heatsink on this thing leaves more to desired. Despite ASUS' bragging about their cooling system on the HD5770, many cards come with a flawed heatsink. They either have bumps, grooves, or other imperfections in its copper base that sits on the GPU. This causes alot of heating issues. The card I purchased from a seller on eBay had just that problem. If you're feeling brave this problem can be fixed by sanding down the heatsink or "lapping" it as it's referred to. Just do a Google search for tips on doing so. But if you come across an issue where the card gets incredibly hot (Mine was reaching temps of 105c until I lapped the ...

    • ATI Radeon HD5770 Video Card

This is a GREAT video card for those of us with little pocket change. It sports 1GB of DDR5 memory (very nice). Has connections for VGA, DVI and HDMI. Max resolution on my system is 2048 X 1536 (wow), however the reported max res is 2560 x 1600. This card can drive both old style 4:3 monitors and the new wide screen units. It is also has ATI CrossFireX Technology which means I can run two (2) of these puppies and link them together (very nice for the multi-monitor environment). But the proof is in the use. Ever play World of Warcraft with the graphics on ULTRA? I do now. :) Maximum PC had this card listed as Best of the Best for low price graphics card, as of November 2010. I must agree with them. There is just one down side to this card. It is big. It takes two slots in my tower ...

    • Value gaming card, also good for multimedia with 3 montiors and eyefinity

This review is more about the 5770 cards than the Asus in general. Good card and good value for gaming. 3 monitor support with eyefinity as an option. Only requires a 6 pin power connector in the back, and the card is good on power consumption. As for ASUS, they have a good overall company with the option to download there software which allows for voltage mods and overclocking further than that of the AMDs. Crossfire and CrossfireX is also good for these cards. But beware for some cards do not connections for 3 or 4 way crossfirex, and even more rare, is cards without the connection for hardware 2 way crossfire. Most have at least one or two, but make sure you know what your cards has to offer. ALSO, the 5770 cards are nearly identical to the 6770 and that they CAN crossfire with them ...

    • ASUSTeK Radeon 5770

Runs REALLY hot for some reason; idle= around 45-50 degrees C. at full gaming load this things gets 80+ and at one point in Bad Company 2 and Just Cause 2 it hit 100 degrees C...that's boiling point. I will probably find a GPU cooler aftermarket, but other than the heat problem the card devours any game even dx11 like dirt2 and bc2. it's a great card! (btw i have a 750w PSU made for quad graphics cards and it's more than qualified to handle this card, so idk why it runs so stinkin hot) great performing card!

    • hot or loud? your choice. asus bad for WoW

i bought this card to replace a nvidia 8800gts-ok. i didn't see much improvement, but i think i may be bottle necked somewhere else like in my pc26400 ram(this card should be great for my next upgrade. I play wow and this card jumps to about 80c when i am playing(thats hot in my opinion), so to solve the heat issue i installed the utilities that come with the card. it has a fan controller, so i tell it to keep my card cooler and it does, i can keep it below 70c but dang does that fan get loud. ( i found out asus software causes problems with wow.) Side note my entertainment system doesn't have a HDMI yet so losing my s-video kinda sucks but i look forward to getting a HDTV now so that should be a plus some day.
