Nice smooth reel
I've been working on jigging two rods at once this winter. I use a rod with a small baitcasting reel in my left hand - handle is on the right, so when I get a bite I can just set down my right handed rod and start reeling. This reel is a perfect match for my right hand with the handle on the left - opposite of the other. What is really impressive is the fact that this reel is so smooth that it will slowly pull a 1/64 oz. jig down to the fish zone with just a push of the button. This allows me to focus on my left hand rod while my right hand lure drops to the fish. I'm not sure I would trust the drag on large fish as it seems a bit jerky. However, if I were fishing to larger fish I would leave the drag on the loose side and just palm the exposed spool when I wanted to slow down a fish.I've been working on jigging two rods at once this winter. Excellent reel!
Very smooth and even drop, even with the smallest jigs. The drag is very smooth as well. I also have the Eagle Claw standard inline ice reel, which is good, but the Premium is well worth the extra $20.
