A pleasing large display model of the Bf-109G-4
This is a large plastic display model of the Bf-109G-4 flown by Erich Hartmann on the Russian front. The model is assembled by pressing on the wings and tail surfaces. You have to be careful because it takes quite a lot of pressure to seat the parts, which are then not removable. All the flying surfaces are hinged and can be set into place so they don’t flop around, a nice feature. The landing gear is retractable and the canopy opens to reveal a cockpit with good instrument detail and the Revi gunsight. The engine panels hinge open to show the detailed multi-part engine, quite well done! There is a drop tank, the R-Vl wing guns and a heavy thread antenna with insulators. A detailed pilot figure resembling Hartmann is included, which has some movement to the limbs for posing. A ... In general the model is very well done and has a pleasing appearance with many moving parts. Unfortunately, the model was produced in 2011 and is no longer made.
