    Outstanding Camera

My 2nd Canon T70 - It was a steal, 99 cents & shipping, $7.97 total. It is in perfect condition, beautiful. Works perfectly (as my original T70) and has taken some of the most beautiful photographs ever. VERY easy to use with plenty of features. Outstanding camera to use with your collection of Canon FD mount lenses. Love, love, LOVE this camera.

  • Top critical review

Not lightweight. Battery cover issues. AA battery operation is a plus along with FD lens mount.

I fell for some of the hype for the T70 but essentially received a copy with the battery door problems. My copy had evidence of battery leakage which took out the bottom cover. I did a quick check with some aluminum bridging the cover. The camera powered up, took readings and fired the shutter. Now wondering if I should pay more to fix the problem when the camera can go kaput at any time. First impression was despite the plastic body, the T70 was heavy. Using AA batteries is a big advantage. Would I trust a T70 for important photos? No, I will stick with my mechanical slrs.

  • A nice combination of features for the novice/intermediate photographer.

Long time Canon owners get into the habit of referring to Canon SLR cameras by their letter designation. Starting with R series, we advance to F, A, and T series cameras. All use the Canon breech lock lens mount, though the R series lenses are not compatible with the later F, A, and T cameras. However, Canon FL/FD lenses will work as they are fashioned on all the rest. As you might guess, the T series cameras (T50,T70,T80,T90) are (with one exception) the last manual focus cameras ever made by Canon. They vary greatly. The T50 was an SLR point and shoot while the full featured T90 was much beloved by photojournalists for its ruggedness and widely admired as a masterpiece of camera design. The T80 was Canons first autofocus camera, and the T70? Well, that was their replacement for the ...

  • Despite minor defect, all systems are a go.

Actually, this purchase included the T-70 camera body, two lenses and a flash. The camera body is in excellent condition and appears to function properly; I have not developed the film yet and won't know of any light leaks or exposure issues until I do so. I have another fully functional T-70 camera that I bought new in 1985 but the flash has been acting up and I wanted to get a back-up as well as get the telephoto lens that came with the ebay T-70 My overall rating was lowered because the regular lens' filter ring is chipped so I can't use a filter with it or put a lens cap on it. Fortunately, that lens wasn't a critical need for me since I have another one that works fine. The condition of the damaged lens should have been noted though it wouldn't have changed my decision to purchase ...

  • Great SLR For Begginer

The Canon T-70 is an affordable camera for those who are new to the world of SLR camera's. It has a 3 modes (very good for a camera of this age) Program (Fully automatic) Program Wide (Good for landscapes and wide angle shots) Program Tele (good for portraits and close up shots. It is also good for those who want to shoot using manual settings the camera also has a shutter speed mode and if you want a full manual experience you can turn the aperture setting on the lens off auto. It is a good quality sturdy camera, The viewfinder is larger, lager in fact then some newer Digital SLR camera's. Although the auto rewind is noisy it is very fast. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone thinking they might be interested in photography as it is a cheap way to get started and the lens are ...
