The red light should have gone out when the battery was fully charged, but remained illuminated. I contacted the vendor, who kindly sent me another battery, which I put on charge. Again, the red light remained illuminated. Perhaps when I start to use my cordless drill again, and need to recharge the battery, the red light will go out when fully charged. The vendor was very helpful, and I have two batteries

Again though what spoilt the whole experiance was the delivery, seller dispatched monday, but evri shows the did not have it till wednsday , the day the order was supposed to be delivered, got notification delivery was to be Thursday, finally arrived FRiday.
