About this product

Product Information

The superhero universe is embroiled in civil war, and it's time for players to choose sides in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. The game is a mission-driven action-adventure with a focus on small-squad combat, viewed from an isometric perspective. As in Marvel's earlier 3D action games (such as titles in the X-Men Legends series, as well as the original Marvel: Ultimate Alliance), role-playing aspects also influence the adventure, with gamers choosing which heroes to control, and how to improve their various superpowers and abilities as they gain experience by defeating enemies and accomplishing goals.

In most scenarios, a team of four Marvel heroes battles a path through areas teeming with high-tech defenses, heavily armed thugs, and rival superhero and supervillian enemies. Players can switch control between the characters, while the computer takes control of additional teammates. Co-operative multiplayer modes for up to four are available, both online and for same-screen players. While all the heroes and villains can perform basic maneuvers such as leaps and melee attacks, each also has a distinct superpower. Over two dozen heroes and villains are available for play, and the special powers of any two super-beings can be combined into a new, even more powerful "fusion" ability. A team with a good mix of special abilities is better prepared for the diverse dangers and challenges that wait in each mission.

The story of the Ultimate Alliance 2 is taken from the Civil War saga, the major crossover event that was first revealed in the pages of multiple Marvel comics in 2006 and early 2007. The U.S. government is calling on all super-powered humans to reveal themselves and register with an official agency, for the safety and protection of the population at large. Heroes and villains now reevaluate past loyalties and regroup according to their stance toward this conflict, which pits the security of the people against the liberties of the individual.

    Alliance almost a Marvel

Continuing with same concept as previous alliance. A unique and different set of heroes. Very good graphics although gameplay tends to get muddled a bit with viewpounts. The combination of heroes combining unique powers is refreshing. But having to restart from checkpoint instead of where you actually left off takes a bit patience. While cheats do add depth and the ability to explore landscape your just not rewarded here. If you use them no " savies" have to play through which can take on your level 6 or more hours, again if using cheats. And have to play always until you get to change team members. But all that nit- pickn' aside,it's still fun to alternate characters, especially new ones hardly used in games,venom,juggernaut,gambit..few more. Great moves, amazing specials so all in all do ...

  • A Solid Game, but Nothing Spectacular

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is the sequel to the popular video game, Marvel Ultimate Alliance. MUA 2 is an action RPG that lets you assemble a team or superheroes from the largest cast of Marvel heroes in gaming. The game revolves around you creating and customizing a team of four superheroes that counterbalance one another's weaknesses and strengths. The gameplay revolves around this fact too as you have four playable characters on screen at all times. The game's story is actually very good, and revolves around a superhero civil war which is created by Congress passing a Superhero Registration Act, which forces superheroes to register their secret identities or become fugitives. This makes for an interesting story, however somewhat flaws the main feature of the game. Like I stated earlier, ...

  • All Around Great Superhero Experience

If you're looking for the world's best isometric top-down dungeon crawler RPG (which is one of the most specific game genres I've ever encountered), this may not be it. It lacks certain elements of an RPG, with your options for upgrading heroes being fairly limited, and the combat can get somewhat repetitive at times. However, if you're looking for the best large-roster superhero fighting game there is, then by George I think you've got it. It has a little over 20 heroes/villians once all is said and done and this game makes several improvements over it's predecessor. 1) The graphics are quite good which makes a huge difference in how the game feels. 2) Many of the characters combat styles are improved and while their power selections are more limited, the developers kept and improved on ...

  • Extremely Average

I'll be honest. I didn't expect much from this game when I bought it. I had already read the reviews and noted the overwhelming lack of excitement through others' opinions. However, it is a Marvel game, has my childhood heroes, is multiplayer, an action/adventure and an RPG. Considering the price I paid for it, it was a great deal. Considering I barely paid more than 20 bucks, you can clearly see the issue of standards. The best thing is has going is the fusion attacks. For the most part, they are all powerful yet, some of them are more creative and useful than others. Another improvement, though a small one, is the camera angles being more than overhead and pans out when your team scatters. It helps a lot when you can see more than 10 feet ahead of you. As for the environments, ...

  • Awesome game

Can’t believe I waited so long to play UA2 when I absolutely loved playing UA1 on PSP. The screen might be a little chaotic at times and each hero only has 4 moves BUT I think given the number of heroes in the game, it makes sense to limit the number of moves per hero. I am only 30 min into the game, but so far so good!
