About this product

Product Information

Create a secure Wi-Fi network instantly using the Cradlepoint MBR95 300 Mbps 4-port 10/100 wireless N router. Suitable for home or office use, this portable device is ideal if you travel a lot and need quick access to an Internet connection. Wherever there is a mobile broadband data signal, the router creates instant networks using 3G/4G USB modems. As well as wireless connectivity, it also connects to wired networking systems, such as Satellite or DSL. To ensure you avoid costly overuse of the Internet, your data usage is monitored by Cradlepoint, and you receive regular alerts to help you monitor this information. While USB 3G/4G modems are not supported by most Wi-Fi-enabled devices, the Cradlepoint MBR95 can be connected to a 4G/3G USB modem to get the most out of your data plan. When the modem is connected, your data plan is shared securely with up to 32 devices. When used in conjunction with an existing satellite, DSL, or cable modem, up to 600 feet of Wi-Fi is added to your network. The most popular type of 4G/3G USB modems work with the Cradlepoint MBR95 wireless router. These include AT&T, Virgin Mobile, and Verizon Wireless, among others. Whether you opt for the wired or wireless access route, the powerful performance and speed of the mobile Cradlepoint MBR95 is enhanced when you place the router near a window. The signal strength LEDs ascertain where the 3G/4G reception is highest. The Wireless N Wi-Fi is 802.11 bgn at a speed of 300 Mbps. The Cradlepoint MBR95 hardware is supplied with preset information, such as a default login, username, password, and IP address. There are two Wi-Fi networks comprised of a private SSID for you as the owner and a public SSID for use by your guests. Each network is able to have its own security settings so that you can have a prioritized connection that is secure and private while sharing your network connectivity. In order to connect directly to Ethernet-enabled devices, the MBR95 has four Ethernet ports. The ports have a connectivity speed of 10/100. A special feature of this router is that is uses Wi-Fi as a data source. This means it becomes a Wi-Fi repeater when in WiFi-as-WAN mode or connects to non-Wi-Fi devices via the Wi-Fi-to-Ethernet adapter. The Cradlepoint MBR95 includes numerous security features for safe usage of the Internet, such as IP address filtering, service filtering, port blocking, and protocol filtering. Secure Wi-Fi is created using WPA2 with AES, which is the best-in-class encryption. Unwanted access to connected computers is prevented, and your Wi-Fi network name is even hidden from your neighbors. It also has intelligent routing, such as port forwarding, routing rules, MAC address filtering, and website filtering. A failover and failback feature is included with this router. When numerous Internet users are using the signal at the same time so that the router is connected to multiple sources, an Internet connection on the primary outage is detected, and it switches over to a secondary connection.

Great feature packed router for a great price. This is the 4th one I've installed for a client and they always work great!

  • The MBR95 is a decent product but has some limitations.

I purchased this router specifically to use with an AT&T Beam usb air card as my previous MBR 900 was no longer supported by Cradlepoint and would not operate with that usb air card. The only recommendation Cradlepoint support could offer was to purchase the new MBR95 router. In addition, when I first connected my AT&T Beam air card, I experienced intermittent operation and later found out through blogs that the signal on the air card interfered with the signal on the wireless wifi of the router and I needed to use a 6 to 10 foot usb extension cable to obtain stable operation. This did work but is certainly an inconvenient workaround. I my view, I question Cradlepoint’s right to say it operates with the AT&T Beam air card unless they indicate the limitations and provide you with the ...

  • Works!!!

Bought the MBR95 for my Franklin U770 because my old TP Link MR3220 is not compatible with the new modem. It was easy to install with no hassle but the signal strength was disappointing which got better a bit when i updated the firmware to the latest software version for July 2013. Still my old cheap router has a better range and a better signal that's why I hooked both routers together with the ethernet cable and used the old router as an access point and just connect to it, problem solved. Ethernet cable and printed-off manual were an extra. overall,I'm satisfied with the router and shipping was on time and would buy one again. Thank you.

  • 5 stars if you do not need log file emails

I have been using a MBR95 for over a year and a half to provide WiFi for a rental cabin in another state. It has worked great except for emailing log files, which I depend upon to monitor the unit. We make 4 trips a year to the cabin and the log emails have failed within 2 days to a few weeks after every trip. Firmware updates and Cradlepoint have been useless for solving the problem. It is a great unit if you do not need emails of log files, but if you do, then stay away. Incidentally, Cradlepoint keeps removing functionality from the router administration pages, but the device does have an ssh server which gives you access to things you can not control through the administration pages. Do not depend upon the manual, however, to tell you anything about using the ssh function. Note ...

  • I love it

It works very well for where I live. Especially since it uses a USB Modem.
