Plasti Dip Rocks for me and my dog
I love Plasti Dip. I have a small 13 lb bichon dog and I make his shoes with plasti dip.He wear the shoes every time I walk him.. I originally bought one dog shoes from a pet co, and he did not like it. He walked Funny. as if he was crippled...My dog was totally uncomfortable with the shoes from pet co. So I decided to make my own shoes for him. I buy baby socks sold for human baby and dip the socks into Plasti Dip . It creates a shoe rubber sole. It makes a nice sole on the bottom on his shoes and my dog loves it. He is able to walk naturally. He does not even feel its there. on the picture which I have attached, his front foot are the blue Plasti Dip version of his new shoes, and the rear orange shoes were made previously with CLEAR Plasti dip.I love Plasti Dip. after you open and use it, put the plastic cover back on it and shake it to get the plasti dip all around the edge for a good seal, it will keep longer without drying out as much, if it gets to thick you can thin it out with ronson lighter fluid (the old fashen type, (like what is used with the old zipo lighters), I bought 2 cans, 1 to use and 1 to refill the one I'm using to keep it to the top, after you pull somthing out of the plasti dip emedeatly flip it upside down for a few seconds to keep that little drip from forming at the bottomafter you open and use it, put the plastic cover back on it and shake it to get the plasti dip all around the edge for a good seal, it will keep longer without drying out as much, if it gets to thick you can thin it out with ronson lighter fluid (the old fashen type, (like what is used with the old zipo lighters), I bought 2 cans, 1 to use and 1 to refill the one I'm using to keep it to the top, after you pull somthing out of the plasti dip emedeatly flip it upside down for a few seconds to keep that little drip from forming at the bottom

I HAVE MANY VINTAGE HAND TOOLS THAT I WANTED TO RUBBERIZE THE HANDLES ON, SUCH AS NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS FROM THE ‘30’s, ELECTRICIAN’S SIDE CUTTERS FROM THE ‘40’s, ETC., AS WELL AS LATER MODEL TOOL HANDLES, I.E. BALL PEEN HAMMER, A 6” HACK SAW, AND AN OFF-BRAND 1/4” RATCHET- MY GOAL WAS TO HAVE ALL OF THESE TURN OUT LIKE A BRAND NEW CHANNELOCK PRODUCT, WITH THE BLUE HANDLES, SO I PURCHASED THE BLUE COLOR. MY VERY FIRST USE OF THIS ‘MATERIAL’ WAS ON MY PRIZED 1930’s DIAMALLOY NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS- I FOLLOWED THE SHORT AND SIMPLE DIRECTIONS (STIR PRODUCT INITIALLY FOR A FEW SECS, 30 MINS BETWEEN COATS) USING RUBBING ALCOHOL AND A PAPER TOWEL TO LIGHTLY CLEAN THE AREA TO BE COATED; I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS- THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MINE AND CHANNELOCK’S FACTORY FINISH WAS THE FINISH ON ... AS AN EXPERIMENT, I GRABBED AN OLD, WELL-USED, SMALL BALL-PEEN HAMMER- THE HANDLE WAS SPLIT FROM THE BOTTOM, UP ABOUT 3-4”, SO I WRAPPED THE WOOD HANDLE UP ABOUT 6-7” WITH 3 LAYERS OF CHEAP, BLACK PLASTIC ELECTRICAL TAPE, AND BEGAN A 4-LAYER PROCESS OF COATING THE HANDLE, TO JUST SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE TAPED AREA; I LET IT DRY OVERNIGHT IN MY UNHEATED GARAGE, AND THE RESULTS WERE PHENOMENAL- TOOK AN OLD, BEATER HAMMER AND MADE IT LOOK AND FEEL LIKE BRAND NEW! I USED THIS HAMMER THAT SAME DAY TO DRIVE OUT ABOUT A DOZEN RIVETS WITH A DRIFT- I LOVE IT! THE HANDLE STILL LOOKED BRAND NEW WHEN I WAS DONE- AND I’VE ACHIEVED THE SAME RESULTS WITH ALL 7 TOOLS I’VE DONE THUS FAR. THE CONTENTS OF THE CAN ARE NOW SLIGHTLY BELOW HALF, SO I DO HAVE TO TILT THE CAN DRAMATICALLY TO COAT ANYTHING ELSE WITH LONG HANDLES- THE ONLY REAL DRAWBACK THUS FAR. TIME WILL TELL HOW IT HOLDS UP, BUT SO FAR, VERY GOOD; I’LL HAVE TO FIND SOME SHORTER ITEMS TO COAT NOW THAT THE PRODUCT LEVEL IS SO LOW, BUT I’M MORE THAT SATISFIED THAT I’VE COATED THE HANDLES OF 7 TOOLS THUS FAR, WITH VERY PROFESSIONAL LOOKING RESULTS- AND THIS STUFF ISN’T MESSY AT ALL- DOESN’T DRIP AT ALL ONCE YOU LIFT IT OUT OF THE CAN TO HANG UP TO DRY- AND IT DOES DRY COMPLETELY IN JUST 4 HOURS, TOOL (OR WHATEVER) READY-TO-USE. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT, OUTSTANDING, SIMPLE-TO-USE PRODUCT, THAT ANYONE CAN USE, WITH VERY PROFESSIONAL-LOOKING RESULTS THST YOU CAN BE PROUD OF. IT DOES HAVE A POTENT, SPRAY-PAINT-TYPE ODOR TO IT, SO IT’S PROBABLY HELPFUL TO USE A PAPER RESPIRATOR WHILE WORKING WITH IT- ALTHOUGH I DIDN’T.
