    Not as strong as older models

    Having sold Hoover since the 50's I had used the Porta Power for many years. I am impressed with the quality of the product and like the longer power cord along with the tool kit included. We used to be able to put the product against a flat surface and it would not move and was hard to pull away. You could also pick up a eight pound bowling ball. I don't have a bowling ball but do have a flat surface and the sweeper slides down the surface thus my not thinking it does not seem to have the suction power. I am impressed with the quality, the fit and finish and improvements ie the bag, the tool kit and longer cord. I would recommend the sweeper to a friend. My wife has replaced 3 sweeper with this one.

    Product stinks literally!

    I bought this to replace my same previous unit that lasted for nearly 30 years. The new model has better suction BUT it gives off a strong odor of burning ABS plastic once it warms up. The various attachments do not fit snugly, and the longer (nice!) length cord is stiff like an inexpensive commercial extension cord. Hoover could do a lot better than this!

    Works well for me!

    We recently remodelled and added more hardwoods to our family room, kitchen and dining rooms. I love my upright for our carpeted rooms, but it isn't designed for hardwoods. After researching my options I noted that the Hoover canister seemed to have what I was looking for: a long cord (I hoped to do all the areas without changing plugs), a light-weight sturdy canister that I could easily carry, and effective tools for cleaning floors and several small area rugs. The Hoover does all this well! I am amazed how quickly I can move through these areas. The cloth filter bag is working so far, but I have ordered some portable bags just in case (be sure to order the adapter for the disposable bags).     OH MY

    I am in the professional cleaning business and I learned how to clean houses using this vacuum 20 years ago and I came across it just recently and decided to get one and this vacuum never seizes amazing I love it as powerful as professional looking & it works great. It blows away the oreck I've been using for the last 15 years .

    wonderful

    I love this vacuum. I used this vacuum with a cleaning service I worked for and doing 3 to 5 houses 5 days a week this vacuum was amazing. I'm telling you it can take a beating. The wands are metal instead of plastic, the hose stretches well, for the attachments the floor piece on hard surfaced floor it swivels! If you twist turn the wand the it stays upright and you can easily go under a coffee table or kitchen table. Loved the reusable bag. Right now I'm using disposables and I'm out, it's a pain to "keep buying" the product. And it has good suction, it was very easy to edge vacuum. I totally recommend it.
