This is a risk you take trying to use vintage parts that have been sitting for many years and the seller indicated that the unit was untested, so the buyer needed to be aware. Paved the way for what we have now, but no worth buying
NHL 2003 A good game, but with the new systems and even the newer games on older systems, it's just not worth buying anymore! NHL 2003 offers a ton of new improvements but also quite a few frustrations. New menus, dekes, and a more customizable game make this a step forward for the EA Sports hockey series. Problems with the game include the break away camera and the game breaker modes. Both cause the action to slow down and supposedly make it easier to score. These two modes cause more problem than good, and even though I see what EA Sports was trying to do, there just isn't a place for this type of cheap circus trick in a serious hockey game. The fighting also sucks, which is a big problem for any true hockey fan. The color commentary is the same old garbage, ... Final Verdict: 3/5 Rent or Buy?: If you're looking for a good hockey game from this era of EA Sports video games, pick up NHL 06 or even NHL 07. This game was good, but doesn't compare to those two. Overall: A game worth buying!
One of the best NHL games for the Nintendo Gamecube aside from the NHL HITZ series. It features graphics way ahead of its time. The only flaw is that in order to save the game, you must have an enormous amount of space on your memory card...

This is the single best NHL game for the Gamecube!
Any one who doesn't think this is the most realistic and fun game is out of their mind. The gameplay is equal to NHL 2002 on the Playstation 2, and the graphics surpass it. I am a fan of NHL games when their gameplay is exceptional, and this is one game that I really enjoy.
