I'm a huge capcom fighting fanatic. I own most of capcoms fighting games. From Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2 for the xbox (MVC2) and for the dreamcast (Both MVC 1,2) I aswell own capcom vs snk 1 and 2. After playing those other fighting games this one is a major disappointment. The graphics are a little mixed up. Capcom fighting evolution is a compilation of 5 capcom fighting games. That being so, the characters have different graphics. For example the street fighter 3 characters have a different art style then that of the darkstalkers characters. So you will find it awkward playing this game at first. You'll feel that "it doesn't fit" Capcom wanted to include characters from different games. But by doing that they didn't put 10 characters per series. Only 4 characters per game "4 street fighter 3 characters, 4 street fighter alpha characters etc" You will also notice that not all the good characters are in this game. For example i'm a big ken fan. And was dissapointed when i didn't saw him in the roster. The game has 21 characters from the get go. And *spoler alert* after you defeat the boss you'll end up unlocking him. Also * more spoiler alert* after either beating the game with all the characters once, or doing a certain task. You'll end up fighting another secret character. Which adds up to a total of 23 characters. Not much for an evolution. The sound in this game is overall pretty nice. For a 2d fighting game. It doesn't compare to Guilty Gear's sound, or music. It's a bit of capcom vs snk 2 music and street fighter 3. Thankfully it doesn't get annoying. To most people it might. Replay value. Well i would say the replay value will eventually wear off. And you'll end up playing some of capcoms previous fighting games. The only modes are " Arcade move, 2player mode, training mode, and Xbox live mode" It's another let down. I was expecting or hoping for atleast a survival mode. It's xbox live enabled. Not sure if it's still online or not. As I don't have an xbox live account. Not many characters to play as. You probably don't have a liking to ALL of the characters that appear in the game. I would say atleast 5 of the 23 characters I know how to play as. And am good with, or that I actually bother using. This game over all is fun. It will appeal to you if you have never played most of the capcom fighting games. But if you own all the games that are shown in this game ( Street Fighter Alpha, Street fighter 3, Street fighter 2, (even though it uses the capcom vs snk sprites and move set) darkstalkers, and red earth (not released in america( Then I say you shouldn't go buy this. But if you always wanted to see Sakura fair off with Yun then welcome home. Besides red earth which has the strangest characters since Star Gladiator. You'll end up liking this game.Read full review
This is a good game that could be so much better. The idea of collect characters of capcom games were great, but a lot of then is missing on game, like Ken, Cammy, Morrigan, Zanguief, and so much more. Some characters are useless on game. The graphics are good and the music too, specially by taking back the old themes of the games that characters belong. The idea of the game were based on neo geo battle coliseum, but it didn't compares to that game, 'cause it have many more charactes and stages. Capcom should have worked better on game.
love this game decent cop it if your a fan of Capcom, its nice with good amount of characters to choose wish their were more unblock-able content would have like to see more characters in the capcom franchise
Well, I got this game for my son and he likes to go against his sister on these types of games. There is nothing that he dislikes about the game. I bought it because my son wanted that game. Maymay342006
