    Witness a Performance of Subtle Excellence.

    I now have the complete set of Joan Hickson Marple. The supporting cast and the set dressing and camera work is so beyond expectation, it is a step into another world once only found in the Original Books. Joan Hickson is so dedicated in the gesture, manner and intonation of Miss Marple, I'm transported to a social reality we have totally abandoned. I watch them again and again, each time seeing more of the entire world created in these films.

    One of the best mystery shows that i've ever seen!

    This show was made in the 80s and 90s, so it is best to adjust to that style of storytelling, bc these stories are a slow burn, but they burn brightly. Miss Marple is about an elderly woman, living in an English village, and she has a sixth sense about death that makes her as much a genius as Sherlock Holmes. the stories that center around the crime are brilliant, well directed, well-acted, everything is fleshed out and Joan Hickson is brilliant as Miss Marple. of course, every cast member and all those who adapted her work are brilliant as well. u have to pay close attention to EVERYTHING that happens, or u will miss something. everything is important! all the stories in this set are very compelling, but if i would rank them, it would be: 4:50 to Paddington, A Caribbean Mystery, Sleeping ...

    For Agatha fans

    I got this set thinking it was a complete set with new mysteries. To my surprise it was a set of movies that I already had. Not a problem I gave this set to a friend that is a Agatha Christie buff. The movies are just about mirror image to the books.

    Joan Hickson is superb!

    Joan Hickson, IMHO, the best Miss Marple ever. Uniformly excellent casting. Directed well, honors the Agatha Christie source material. Not kitschy or arch. Superb.
