Product Review: Not much needed here. Another fine publshing from the excellent writers and players at the Bradygames house. As always helpful without forcing a complete read-thru before picking up the controller like some strategy guide publishers, also easy to read type and just the right amount of screenshots/pictures to assist the explanations without forcing your eyes to wander on the pages (this is actually quite critical, it makes it easier to use the guide while actually playing so you can make a quick glance as needed). It has a few misprinted pages but not enough to cause issues, it was a quick and limited publication so it understandably happens. 4 Smiley faces out of 5. :) :) : :) X
Simply put, without it you will take a very long time discovering the many quests and side quests in this game. Completing (100%) would be next to impossible without this guide. This guide allows the player to streamline the gameplay. With this guide a player can choose a number of outcomes for the playable characters, good or ill.

Ah, Tales of Symphonia; what a game. Some of its dungeons, however, had me puzzled, so I picked up this handy guide. It was usually pretty useful - the guide tells you about obtaining titles, finding recipies, completing the monster list, and running through sidequests. Most of these were helpful. The guide does have its weak points, though. On a few of the pages, the text cuts off unexplicably, leaving the reader hanging. Also, most of the sidequests have cut-off points; if you pass point x in the plot, for example, you can't complete the sidequest (at least not in this playthrough). Since the guide didn't specifically tell me when to start the sidequest in the main runthrough section, I missed a few. True, it has a sidequest section in the back, but flipping to and fro is tedious. Furthermore, some of the book's explanations are confusing - the Shadow Temple, for example. I needed to go online to get help for that dungeon. More pictures would have been quite helpful there. Otherwise, it does its job as a guide pretty well. And it is the only one for Symphonia, so you don't have much choice.Read full review

The book is the concept and video game art from the video game Tales of Symphonia. It's a fantastic item for any artist that wants to try this style, or to use as a reference.
