    Excellent Temperature Probe

    Very nice cooking probe at good value. Not only features standard cooking meats as other probes but has added categories of ground beef or chicken and fish. The really nice feature is probe remains attached to base and you can carry the actual meter with you to monitor progress. Great for when need to be elsewhere in the house or yard and not having to run to oven to keep checking.

    Product Doesn't Work

    Half way through cooking my Christmas Prime Rib, this thermometer decided to quit and since I couldn't open the oven, I had to "wing it." Afterward, I replaced the batteries for a second time and it seemed okay but now the transmitter isn't working and it won't turn on or off with the switch. I guess you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product. I guess you get what you pay for.

    A bit complicated to ue but works well

    This device is sophisticated. It has pre-set temperatures for different kinds of foodstuffs. I've been using it by setting the temperature manually. It comes with an instruction booklet. The instruction booklet is not very clear. The instructions in the booklet seem to be for using the automatic settings and not for use in manual mode. You have got to figure out the manual operation mode on your own. The wire to the probe looks like it's made from braided steel mesh. I had the probe in an oven with the temperature at 400+ degrees and it worked fine.

    Nice wireless thermometer for the price.

    Was easy to set up - install batteries, sync, and it worked. I have had it for a month and have enjoyed allowing my smoker to stay closed and still know what the temperature of the meat is. Wireless allows me to be at the far side of the house and still know what is going on in the smoker. The Christmas turkey countdown with the guests was fun (just 5 degrees to go!). Keeps from having to answer "When is it going to be done?"

    excellent unexpected results

    The device works just as it was advertised. The warranty is awesome. I have limited time with the unit and have used it only once, in a different situation that I was not sure about it. I used it in a crock pot and it worked wonderfully. So; so far, am more than just happy as it is performing better than hoped and the guarantee of replacement for the probe is another unexpected feature. Alvin Mondrow
