I'm 43 and remember this coming out when I was 20. I bought it based on nostalgia but found that even without nostalgia this has been a great game. Graphics are mediocre by today's standards but still serviceable and everything is recognizable from the movie counterparts. The gameplay is great with lightsaber combos, force powers, several characters to choose from and really great levels that do a great job of representing the episode 1 universe. My only complaints are the ridiculous jumps you have to make in the later levels and the far away placements of the checkpoints on some stages. However with practice and patience you can master each level. They arent impossible just challenging. You get a great sense of satisfaction when you beat a level. It's awesome. Replay value is great with new modes and characters to unlock. Each stage has the potential to provide you with three permanent upgrades based on your score. There is a lot to come back for and more importantly it's fun. It's a great game from yesteryear and now is one of my favorite Star Wars games of all time. Well worth the $10.Read full review

I beat the game back in 1999 and it has not aged to badly but it would be fun if i got used to the botton layout once again. You run using the analog stick and the D - Pad is used to walk.

This is a fun game to play with a friend. It is a bit difficult and jumping sequences can be very frustrating at times. 2 players is definatly harder than single player do to bad camara angles, pushing your buddy off of small platforms, and sharing points to end of level bonuses. It is satisfying to learn new combo moves and force powers at each level and is overall a pretty fun game given it is a PS1 game for $7. There is decent replay value as well given new characters when beating the game, and advancing the skills of original characters you did not play with the first time through. A good buy, just be prepared to control your jumping or throw your controller out the window.
I am a huge Star Wars fan and wanted to finish off my Star Wars collection of games for the Playstation One when i came across Star Wars Episode 1:Jedi Power Battles. It is a good Star Wars game for the original Playstation. It is mostly an action title but has some platforming elements that can be a little frustrating at times, thus keeping it from an excellent rating. You can play up to two players at the same time as you traverse through levels based on scenes from the movie. You can pick from Jedi in the movies including Obi-Wan and Qui-Gonn.The graphics and sound are good for a Playstation One game.If you like Star Wars and you always wanted to be a Jedi, you will like this game. B.C.
It is particularly enjoyable for many Star Wars gamers and fans of the phantom menace, but it’s very hard too. And it does have skillful requirements of blocking for enemies, and many unlockable characters and features.
