  • Just One Movie Soundtrack

Have been a Clapton fan since I began playing guitar in the early 1980's. Just finished his autobiography and realized how many of his works I did not have, including "Rush." I bought the disc a few weeks back, and have enjoyed it several times now. Overall, the disc is 10 tracks, two are in a traditional song format, "Tears in Heaven" and "Help Me Up". The success of "Tears" is well-known. "Help Me Up" deserves more notice. It is a catchy song, good lyrics and song structure. What struck me most about this album is what it is not. It is not a continuation of the Phil Collins-Clapton era of collaboration. The Collins influence seemed to dominate Clapton's releases in the second half of the 1980's. Emphasis was ...

  • A need for Eric Clapton

In the 80's, when our son was a "wanna-be' rockstar, I heard Eric Clapton's songs over and over. I liked them all, but never had a personal interest in any of them. I also knew that Eric lost a young son in a fall and had written a song for him called "Tears in Heaven", which was beautiful. Little did I know that in 2007, our daughter would die suddenly, and that same brother who listened and learned the guitar from Eric Clapton would be playing and singing the same song for his sister at her funeral. I had to have a copy. It has help my husband and I heal every time we play it. We have a long way to go, but the album "Rush" and this particular song we be with us always.

  • "Rush" is a beautiful guitar blues pipe dream.

From the everlasting classic guitar blues of Buddy Guy to the newer classic blues of Eric Clapton, "Rush" is one of the best guitar blues CDs I own. My wife and I attended Clapton's three day, 2004 Crossroads Guitar Festival held at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas where Buddy Guy was one of Clapton's main guests. It was a whos-who of guitar blues greats! While this CD is just a sampling of all of the the wonderful music from the "Rush" movie, it's an assortment of guitar blues that is very hard to beat. Even though there are some great cuts from the movie that didn't make it onto the CD, including Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs" which was used to open as well as to close the movie, the ones that made it are absolutely great! If you like ...

  • Rush-Original Soundtrack (CD 1992)

I love Eric Clapton and this was one of the best works put out by him after the loss of his son. The CD itself arrived in perfect shape, I was able to put in the the CD player and listen to some of the best music ever done by Eric Clapton. I bought this CD because I was unable to find it music stores without having them order at extra cost of course! I had loaned mine out when my husband was killed for the guy producing a movie of Kenny's life and some how never got the cassette back. I was very happy to have it back in my home. Eric Clapton's introspective creation of this title track was so moving way back when it was produced and so appropriate to the movie Rush. Thanks, Susan Howell
