Great classic field guide for travelers or those just curious about African wildlife
This book in the Audubon wildlife guide series covers most of the animals one would find in Africa, including different varieties of the same animal, where they are located, habitat, key identifying features etc. The animals are organized by class of animals - storks, cranes, geese, ducks, birds of prey, reptiles,etc. etc all the way from the tiny animals all the way up to the big cats, rhinos and giraffes. The pictures are very good and the book is small enough to carry it in your tote bag or backpack without being cumbersome. Only thing I would have liked to have seen was coverage of insects, but the book would have probably ended up being huge if it had. This book was standard in every safari vehicle we went in Africa and was consulted many times by us travelers, which is why I chose it over any other guide book.
