Players reenlist for more mercenary combat through massively destructible environments in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. A direct sequel to the original, the game has players resuming their place among the AWOL squad that found its fortune at the end of the first Bad Company. Picking up the plotline soon after the end of the first game, the story follows the group through the rocky Russian border and beyond, with missions set in dense jungles and barren deserts as well as snow-covered mountains.<br><br>Buildings and other objects of all sizes can be damaged or destroyed completely, with the right firepower at the right time and place. Players can proceed through each mission as they see fit, be it through stealthy ambushes, keen tactical strikes, or heavily armed frontal assaults that leave nothing but smoldering rubble in their wake.<br><br>As in the first game, players customize their characters by choosing an equipment kit before the start of each mission. In Bad Company 2, four basic kits are available: Assault, Engineer, Recon, and Medic. Each gives the character special abilities and limitations, encouraging squad-mates to support one another and work together as a team. As in earlier Battlefield games, players may commandeer vehicles they find in their missions, including motorcycles, patrol boats, tanks, and Blackhawk helicopters.<br><br>Characters earn experience for killing enemies and accomplishing mission objectives. Experience points can be spent to upgrade the character. Player characters can also collect dog tags from the enemies they take down. In addition to the single-player campaign, the game supports a variety of online multiplayer options, including an assault-style "Rush" mode in which teams take turns defending and attacking crates of valuable cargo.

    Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (XBOX 360)

    Got this for son for xmas. I can't say much as to the actual game play, as I haven't yet sat and actually watched him play yet, but he seems to really enjoy this game. He has stated that it is "cool", when in cover to heal, your opponent will shoot at you and the whole wall or building will explode. So I expect taking cover is not all that easy of thing to accomplish if the walls or building you are taking cover under will just completely blow up when being shot at. But he seems to like the concept. He loves, war, shooting games and this game fits the bill. Only down side to game I can state without having much experience with it is the cursing. I don't quite understand why all these games need to have swearing threwout them. They can be just as fun and compelling of game play without the ...

    Battlefield: Bad Company 2 A New Hit Game?

    Tons of new video games came out this year between Call of Duty MW2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2; but lets face it what name has more publicity. Call of Duty MW2 sold millions of copies its first day of sales, BC2 hasn't done so well. And because of MW2's huge fan base 130k people are online at a single time. BC2 has a great live database. and its very simple easy and fine for playing with friends where in MW2 it's a bit harder to navigate. The problem is so many people are on COD that BC2 doesn't have much a chance. This is more of a game for its campaign mode then its live mode; but lets face it with technology now almost everyone has live and wants to play with their buddies. In BC I get squads (teams of what can be 3 more people, so I think I haven't had any more) I get stuck by ...

    Great Shooter, But Falls A Little Short

    First off, this is a good game. I'd have to give it a good 8 out of 10. From the graphics to the gameplay, BBC2 brings an action packed experience right to your living room. Now when you compare this game to Modern Warfare 2, I'm gonna have to give the edge to MW2. Both games are just beautiful and display stunning visuals. The sound effects are great as well. Both games also have good gameplay, with the options to change up the controls. However, when you compare both games campaign and multiplayer, MW2 comes out the winner in both categories. BBC2's campaign is a good and all but it just doesn't sink in as well as MW2's. MW2's multiplayer also has a big selection of playlists to choose from and is a lot more action packed bringing with it a better gaming experience. BBC2 is by no ...

    If you like FPS games, then you'll like this game.

    WARNING: I'm not going to sit here and analyze the differences between Battlefield and CoD because there two completely different games in spectrum of FPS games. They each have their own pros and cons that I won’t particularly get into. The bottom line is that this game is a great game. It provides a great FPS experience that has its own awesome style. It has great realism, awesome playablilty, and very good graphics. If you’re into this genre, this game is a MUST. Some flaws would be the ranking system, the inability to go prone (lie down), and the over power aspect of vehicles. However, these are minor flaws that don’t take too much away from this games amazing FPS experience. Overall: 9/10 “A must play for FPS lovers”
