    laser printer 'ghosting'

    After a little research it appeared the most likely cause of my poor print jobs, called ghosting, where portions of page reprint over again till image is unreadable was going to be the toner cartridge. I worried an ebay cartridge wouldn't fix this perhaps because of age but I got it all sealed. Regardless of how long or short it had been shelved it fixed my problems at a fraction of the cost had I gone to a Staples or Office Depot.

    Bad deal for me.

    Toner cartridge leaks toner during printing. It is a repackaged "open box" original OEM product as advertised. That is why I gave it two stars. However, there is evidence of dried out seals which causes an excessive amount of toner to fall on to the transfer roller. Makes very messy prints. No improvement after 20 prints.

    One Happy Customer

    Only time will tell whether it lasts as long as the last cartridge. Upon installation, it literally transformed this machine's output from garbage to beautiful. The cost was a small fraction of what the original manufacturer wanted for the same product so I'm very pleased by this purchase.

    Outdated old stock

    I learned that toner cartridges have a shelf life and that Original HP toner has been off the market for years. The toner I got was worse than any cartridge I have ever put in my printer. Took it to the repair shop, had it cleaned out, checked to see if repairs were needed and got a new fresh aftermarket toner cartridge.

    The Real Deal

    HP doesn't make them anymore, so it's either old stock (this), rebuilt, 2nd party, refill one's old one, or get a new printer. I'm happy with my antique HP LaserJet 2200tdn printer, so that choice is out. Over the years I've done all the others & I've had the best results with the real deal, aka genuine HP.
