The saga of Myrtania continues in Arcania: Gothic 4, an action-heavy RPG in the vein of Oblivion, where a traditional fantasy setting provides the backdrop as players explore a world torn apart by civil war and constant battles against orcs. King Rhobar III managed to peacefully reunite most of the land, and he set sail for the Southern Islands in an attempt to finish the job. But during the journey, the king descended into madness, sending his close companions Diego, Gorn, Milten, and Lester into exile, and creating a power vacuum that once again led to war.<br><br>Gamers step into this void as a lone adventurer who returns home to find his village looted and destroyed, with the culprits sailing off into the distance. Players begin their journey with a heavy dose of revenge in mind, guided through vast landscapes and wildly changing terrain by a mysterious woman and an ancient artifact. The combat finds gamers unleashing a combination of attacks using melee weapons, ranged weapons, and sorcery; and the many villages, dungeons, fortresses, and castles scattered throughout the land provide all manner of characters to meet, quests to undertake, and beasts to battle.

    Gothic 4, fourth game in an amazing campaign.

    The first 2 Gothic games are my favorite games of all time. I got Gothic (the original) on my 10th birthday. I have been hooked and beating them all one by one. The 3rd and 4th are okay, but i think after playing the 1st 2 im a little disappointed. In Gothic 4, its a set story and you are just an adventurer fulfilling it, like a book. There is no variety. No classes, there are only 3spells in the game!!!! Gothic 1 and 2 had hundreds of spells and the game was different everytime. You could join any camp you wanted and take any path you choose. The upside of Gothic 4, is when you find someone in the game that related to the originals (although they dont recognize you since you are a different hero). The graphics in this game are phenominal.     Fun game, Bad camera!

    The game is pretty fun overall. It's not the best RPG out there, but it is one of the better ones, in my opinion. The story is a bit...odd, but the game doesn't take itself too seriously, which is a good thing. My only complaint is that I wish it supported a controller, only because the camera control is horrible with the mouse and makes the game hard to play.

    Worth your time and money.

    Although the game could benefit from a better interface, as RPGs go, it is entertaining, visually pleasing and worth your investment of time and money. Should provide gamers a 50+ hours of play.
