This is a LARGE microphone. At first I was a little put off but it grew on me quickly. It is half the size of a VX-7R. It has loud, clear audio and sounds as good as the radio. It's waterproof and I didn't have to worry about it when it started to rain. It screws in and the connection is waterproof as well. When winter comes it will be easy to handle with gloves on. YAESU MH-73A4B WATERPROOF SPEAKER MIC
This mic is perfect. The construction is very sturdy and flawless. The cord is a good length and very flexible. The wear points at the radio and the mic are well protected and should last a very long time. I am a new ham, and will sell the vhf/uhf handy talkie and this mic for more than I paid at some time in the future. I am certain the mic and radio will still be "like new".
