About this product

Product Information

A Wii-specific remake of Capcom's 2002 GameCube title Resident Evil (which was itself an enhanced remake of the 1996 PlayStation game), Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil sends players back to the infamous mansion in Raccoon City where the popular survival horror series first began. Gamers once again join protagonists Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine as they search for their missing squad mates by exploring every room of the estate, solving puzzles, battling zombies, and squaring off against gigantic monstrosities in frantic boss battles. The main characters uncover two distinct paths, and there are ten different endings to unlock, each dependent upon how players perform and what in-game decisions they make.

    Resident Evil Perfection

To anyone worried about the bad reviews based on the controls, don't worry about it. Go in with an open mind and you have one of the very best horror games ever made. The controls, and camera angles in this game were designed this way to make you feel uneasy and disoriented. It takes a tiny bit of getting used to, if you haven't played the original PS1 games, but ask any fan of the originals of they'd change those camera angles and they'd all say "no" - its classic Resident Evil character, you can't live without it once you get used to it. Of all the Resident Evil games, this remake is my all time favorite for level of fear, music, visuals, and story.

  • Classic survival horror

I played this game years ago on the GameCube, and remember being amazed at the graphics then. Playing it now on the Wii, the graphics aren't amazing, but if you consider the time it came out, it's still really good. All of that aside, this game is a must have for resident evil fans. For starters, this is what a true horror survival game is. The camera angles have led to some bad reviews, but they're set that way to cause paranoia and angst and to set the vibe of the game. And the game is all about strategy! It's not an easy game to just go through and beat. You have to think, you have to preserve your ammo, and you have to plan ahead. This is what ultimately makes this such a treasure. To top that off, the story line is still one of the best Resident Evil ones to this day. Nothing beats ...

  • Mommy!!..Were out of toilet paper!!!@#$%

This game was the original reason why I decided to come out of video game retirement in the 1st place, & my first v-game since Mrs. PAC-MAN. Well worth the wait w/ the exception of having to deal w/ spending more each month on adult diapers. If you're a dinosaur who suffers w/ a leaky sewage tank like me then Please be advised that this game isn't scary, it's downright HORRIFYING. From what my 1/2 rotted memory can recall from first being introduced to this Evilcy, this Wii version plays out exactly like the original which is a Big wicked plus. It's Good Juicy fun for the whole family..except perhaps grandpa, LOL!!

  • Absolutely LOVE this game!!

I was in love with Resident Evil director's cut for the PS1. I was 16 when that game came out. This one is just as good, maybe even better. I haven't gotten very far lol. Not I'm enjoying it a lot.

  • A Well Deserved Remake

Resident Evil 4 for the Wii was the first Resident Evil game I had played, and I enjoyed it thoroughly, then I went ahead and purchased Resident Evil Remake. Not to my surprise, this game was much different, and I mean that in a good way. It's not a guns-blazin'/weapon-upgradin' shootout like RE4. You manage your weapon ammo more carefully and there alot of complex puzzles to figure out in order to advance in the game. You use a lighter & kerosene, again very carefully managed, to burn any zombies that you seem to have killed, so they won't return as violent "crimson-heads". The graphics are very good, considering the game came out in 2002, extremely superb to the 1996 PS version. I wish they would remake RE2 & RE3. The controls are a little stiff, even with the Wii remote, but after ...
