    This is NOT an OEM unit

    I bought this unit because I had an open in one of the squib circuits for my airbag, which caused the airbag light to be on. I installed this unit and immediately received bad steering angle position readings and the airbag light remained on. The bad steering angle readings (read with a diagnostics tool) caused the electronic stability control to go haywire making it difficult and unsafe to drive the vehicle. Something about the unit didn't seem right viewing it side by side with the unit original to the vehicle. It didn't have the same weight and felt almost "cheap", so I popped open the plastic covers on both units to compare the internals. The picture speaks for itself. The ribbon is very poorly soldered and there's and obvious break in the conductor leading to a pin for one of the ...
