  • Happy toddler= Happy Parents!

Dr. Harvey Karp knows children!! He delves into the minds of toddlers and tells parents what to reasonably expect from little ones and how to effectively deal with them on a daily basis. His ideas and methods for dealing with toddlers is caring, understanding, and very practical. He doesn't preach, but instead uses a kind tone in the book that is comforting to parents. The book is broken down into different age groups and is easy to read and understand. I like that this book gives information on the cognitive and social development of children and what is normal behavior at different ages. It is also a good companion to the Happiest Toddler on the Block DVD. As a mother and a teacher, I found this book very insightful and helpful.

  • Great way to stop tantrums!!!!

This book is great at stopping a tantrum as it starts. It explains why kids get so frustrated and why they have temper tantrums. We just need to speak their language!! Highly recommended!!! It worked for me!!!

  • great book

Still in the first 3rd of the book and already seeing the difference with my 3 year old. I definitely recommend! It teaches you how to effectively communicate and turn those tantrums around. I counsel parents how to work with their kids and this info is better than the other things I've been taught!!!!!

  • busy little hands

Wonderful help in dealing with a super high-octane grandson as he transitions from infant to baby to toddler.

  • Great read for parents

What I really like about this book is how it breaks down the stages your child acts out while trying to grow up. It helps you to determine what type of child you have and how to deal with their type of personality. It gives great advice on how to deal with tantrums, breakdowns, meltdowns and all those embarrassing things that only seem to happen to you while out in a store, park etc.
