    If you need a low power all singing all dancing router, this is likely to be it!

    This is the lightweight version of the popular hAP series. It draws a mere 8W has wifi of 2.4 and 5 Ghz, supports power by POE with a single port for passive POE out, but comes with a 24 V power supply (unit supports 6 to 30V supply, think battery supply in remote location). My only criticism of the implementation of the POE is that it comes in to port1 which is ok if your bridged internet modem can do POE... It autoconfigures to number 1 port being attached to a bridged modem (eg NBN) and has the wonderful RouterOs installed which for a tinkerer is just perfect. If not a tinkerer it is worth reading how to secure the router on the MikroTik site. It packs a punch greater than routers costing 2 to 3 times as much. This model has 5 ports and I think these are limited to 10/100 unlike the ...

    This product is small and inexpensive but has lots of feature and was easy to configure. It has both 2.5 and 5 GB wifi, as well as internet routing.

    Versatile and Complex

    This is very versatile equipment: it can function as a router, a switch and various other roles. But it's not simple to use. The documentation is pretty good, but aimed at people who are familiar with advanced networking.
