Compact & good quality
If you store emergency food for long term storage (ie 20 years or more) you need to have the right bags, oxygen absorbers and an impulse sealer. For my larger mylar bags, the ones that hold 40 pounds in a 6 pound pail. I have to make 2 passes, one on each side of the bag with this 12" sealer. It seems to do a good job on both mylar as well as the ordinary clear polyethylene & polypropylene bags. The trick is to back off the heat control so it doesn't slice through the bag. The poly bags seem to require a bit less time.
