    Smooth Installation

    Absolutely, a clean install. The original Nav in my 2006 MB E320 CDI, begged a serious update. MB dealer warned me of NAV update non-availability for my rig, probably due to elapsed years (age?). So I resorted to an eBay hunt. MB User Groups had hinted on need for firmware update as a pre-condition to installing current software. Well, I went with it and have just updated both firmware as well as Map data titled Vs. 15; claimed as LAST AND FINAL UPDATE.. My random thought and experience relating specifically to my car, follow: -Updates go smoothly, especially when accompanying, straight forward instructions are followed -Being patient is imperative. On-screen seems dead after DVD is inserted. Then, all of a sudden the head unit reverts to whichever radio channel had previously been ...

    Almost but no cigar... Probably don't want to bother with this.

    So, this has lots more information than the ancient one that came with the car, but it's simply not useful since the nav unit can't seem to process it reliably. Trip planning doesn't work - simply shows calculating forever. Even simple map display is 1) unreliable - often showing a "clock" icon and "reading" message and 2) ultimately after a couple of days reporting that there is no nav-dvd installed. The nav-dvd was of course in place... Putting the old ancient nav dvd back in the unit restored it to modestly useful status (missing lots of detail, but at least no clock icons...). Swing-and-a-miss! Should have method to "scope" the detail to make work with older nav units (as this is targeted specifically at old units).

    Good, but not great.

    The disc arrived quick and undamaged. It also worked the first time. No problems there. But, it was not much of a improvement over the old disc. Perhaps I need to map more destinations?

    Dead Easy To Install Nav System.

    Updated the system with the command & firmware disk then updated the navigation with The NTG1 Nav disk. All dead easy with instructions provided. Nav now totally up to date with no side effects. Works great.

    Trouble Free NAV Update

    Easy to do upgrade. Just remove all cds from the dash mounted CD player. Insert update NAV DVD, reply to update question. This was on a S550 Mercedes. Took about 30 min with the unit on.
