"Transformers: The Game for Sony Playstation 2" The graphics in this game is outstanding, but some levels can be hard, especially when the player is required to use only one Autobot to defeat two Decepticons. However, patience pays off and there is alot of action. As a robot warrior the player can pick up objects and throw them, smash through them in vehicle mode, or use the objects as weapons against the enemy. If the buying price is right, this game is definately worth getting for yourself or anyone who likes Transformers. However, its important to note that the characters in this game are from the FIRST Transformers movie, they are: Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide... The Decepticons are: Megatron, Brawl, Starscream, Blackout, Scorponok, Bonecrusher, and Barricade (the character Frenzy is not in this game). As far as game play, there are 18 levels that range in difficulty from tough to "almost impossible". A very good game for someone who really wants a challenge, but be warned, this game is not for rookie gamers, it will take a very experienced player to win this one. No joke. Maybe there are codes for this one to help, I dont know. On a personal note, this game was a gift for our teenager, and he says it is a very hard game, and he was a little disappointed that it turned out to be so hard to beat (warning, may cause teenage temper tantrums and result in game being put back in package and resold). :) GOOD LUCK GAMERSRead full review
First off, G1 is what I grew up with and seeing the redesign of the transformers into a new look made me think it would not be the same. I went to see the movie and I was hooked. Old gene, new gene, it is still the bomb. Plus the voice of prime is the same in the game and the movie, which is the original voice in the G1 show. Now the game. Great graphics, hours of enjoyment, and lots of freedom to distroy the city and race around in car mode. The transformation from robot to car, plane, etc... is flawless. Also there is picture from the movie and G1 in the extra section. My 4 year loves and can play with ease. Buying the game and the movie when it comes out!
I bought this for a boy's 5th birthday, and was pleasantly surprised. it is simple enough that he can enjoy playing by himself, and at the same time I can be entertained playing it as well. the graphics are top-shelf for a PS2 title, and I enjoy that you can select to be an autobot or a decepticon and follow a storyline from either side. It combines elements of action, driving, and fighting games. great game, especially for fans of the movie!
Very challenging for me (30 year old mom). Too difficult for young kids! I bought this for my 5 year old (I know he's too young for it)...but he loved the movie and I thought I could open the levels for him to free play...little more challenging then what I'm used to! Good game though! =)
Nothing about this game amuses me what so ever.I was hoping for a little bit more but I guess you can't ask too much from this game. You start off by playing the role of either the Autobots or Decepticons.Basically you wreck havoc trying to protect Sam if you choose the good side or track down the AllSpark and destroy the Autobots if you choose the evil side.Basically each mission is set up to play cat and mouse with the other side. You beat each other up a bit they run,you chase them down, transform back, and start fighting like a bunch of robotic cavemen. The camera angle is way too tricky to even get it in the direction you want your fire power to go.So don't waste your time figuring that out, you'll just get your robotic butt turned into scrap metal.I was spending most of my time just pressing the square button, keep that in mind, the square is your friend. This game is great. . . .yeah for like the first 5 minutes, after that you can just use it as an expensive coaster for your Transformer cup filled with your favorite drink.Read full review
