About this product
Product Information
These 35 folk tales have been gathered from Peter Christen Asbj rnsen and J rgen Moe's landmark nineteenth-century collections, acclaimed by Jacob Grimm for their freshness and a fullness that "surpass nearly all others." In this sparkling translation by Pat Shaw and Carl Norman, accompanied by a selection of the magnificent original illustrations of Erik Werenskiold and Theodor Kittelsen, are captivating stories of witches, trolls, and ogres; sly foxes and mysterious bears; beautiful princesses and country lads-turned-heroes that brim with the matchless vitality and power of their original telling. Translated by Pat Shaw and Carl Norman With black-and-white illustrations throughout Part of the Pantheon Fairy Tale and Folklore Library

- e***u (283)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThe listing was for a hardcover version of this book; however, I received a paperback. The Seller replied quickly to my question about this issue and issued a full refund - and let me keep the book. So, a diligent Seller for sure - and well packaged and reasonable timing on shipping. Thank you for the refund, and as you suggested, I'll likely donate this volume and seek the hardcover.
- e***n (392)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseGreat transaction, exactly as described, packed well, and promptly shipped on August 6th. Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service took 23 calendar days to deliver the book. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville. The seller was very responsive and I decided it was interesting to see if/how the book would arrive. - n***7- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseItem came shipped very well packaged and shipped very quickly. Also product was as described seeming in good condition. However I had a slight issues with the item(could have been damaged by carrier not sure) but seller made good with a full refund immediately after I contacted them about the issue. I would do business again based on the excellent customer service and would highly recommend seller.
