Its a great tool. I think it would have a place in any workshop!
I have an a shop that is short on work space, I really would have liked to have the table top version but I am really out of room for it. For the price, I have no complaints. I'm using it bench mounted, to sand inside contours on 1.75" thick lumber, and it does to the job. The variable speed is nice, has adequate power, and the supplied bench clamps hold the sander very well. Its size makes it a little difficult to sand some items, but I dont have much choice. Good,with limits.
I needed to sand smooth one sink cutout, so I didn’t want to spend a lot of time and money getting it done. This did the job just fine. The only gripe I’ve got is that the oscillating stroke is incredibly short. The sleeve bobs up and down only about a quarter inch. More aggressive paper would help greatly but it’s pretty hard to find sleeves of any grit. Wen, go ahead and put out some sleeves in low grits, and offer them in packages that are just the ones we want.I needed to sand smooth one sink cutout, so I didn’t want to spend a lot of time and money getting it done. Makes time consuming sanding jobs a lot easier.
I needed something to get into decorative pieces of some antique foot stools/ settees I am making for Christmas gifts. I checked into floor models and the cost was prohibitive but this hand held/ adaptable to bench mounted unit fit the bill even better than a floor model, much more versatile. A lot handier.easier, and faster than hand sanding.

Solid but not overly heavy ..good RPM ranges ..seems to be a quality build ..slightly more noise than a corded drill but it is doing more "action" than a drill so would expect more noise ..ear protection not needed but when running ..normal conversation would would be difficult .. I recommend this spindle sander
