    There is nothing worse than having a washer spread like jam ... these won't! I've actually seen 'blokes' put so much behind tightening a wing nut, that they have bent the wings. These are tough enough for the job, are not meant to be used to hold bridges together, but will prove very capable of withstanding moderate torque loadings. It is advisable to add a touch of grease. This will cause an additional 30% loading, so be careful. The grease will help you undo it.
