Record of Agarest War is a traditional, grid-based strategy RPG that features multi-generational gameplay and peppers a heavy dose of suggestive visuals into its 100-hour storyline. An ancient war between darkness and light once threatened to tear the entire world asunder, but by the intervention of the very Gods whose actions ignited the war in the first place, the land was saved. But as the millennia wore on, a perilous evil began to spread to the surface of the world once again.<br><br>Players step into this scenario as Leonhardt, a young man whose actions, including his choices in affairs of the heart, will have a profound effect on the fate of the land. Joined by a party of fellow crusaders, Leonhardt travels from waypoint to waypoint, talking to characters and using collaborative attacks to battle a variety of beasts. And when Leonhardt grows old and can no longer fight, players can use the "Soul Breed" system to choose a bride, give birth to an heir, and continue the journey with a new generation.

If I want a used one, I'll just go to local owners to find a much cheaper one. Not much to complain about the shipping though. Not the fastest, but still OK. Great Addition to any RPG fan's collection...
If you like RPG's this is a typical turn based RPG. The art is pretty and it has great replay value considering how upon completing a game your descendents continue to fight. I was not fond of the AP idea where you have so many Attack Points per turn - however after playing for a bit, it's really not too bad and adds to the strategy of the game. Best RPG? Probably not... But I would definitely recommend adding it to your RPG collection. It's unique and hours of fun. For turn based goodness, I would recommend Eternal Eyes (PSX), Fire Emblem Path of Radiance for (GameCube), and definitely check out Jade Cocoon (PSX) and Jade Cocoon 2 (PS2).If you like RPG's this is a typical turn based RPG. I think the game is great. Great for people that are looking for a challenge and an adventure. Its very puzzling and has you thinking a lot about what you should do next. The attack animations are just epic. This isn't a game for its graphics, but gameplay. And I enjoyed the game entirely. You may need to play the game more then once to unlock everything, and every choice you make has a different outcome.I think the game is great. A very...interesting game.
I love this game! The dating sim was a bit weird for this kind of game. But it was still good, the images were really...interesting, let's leave it at that. Wish they had English as they talked but at least we have characters talking. But still, the gameplay is good, the story is really, Really, REALLY long if you're trying to get everything. Overall, I loved it.

Great game for turn based strategy RPG players! Story line goes through 3 generations of characters. You get three choices of female characters to decide what the next generation will be and skills he will have. I am only on 2nd generation now and can not wait to play through again to see the other choices of characters or skills they will possess.

The game is fun, but the style of play the game has is very difficult to get used to. The tutorials don't really explain how to do too much.
