    Great amp.

    So far so good. Only issue at the moment, it keeps going into protection mode. Could be an issue of my trunk space has no air circulation. Prob will mount a small fan in there to help keep it cool. Should solve the prob. Since everything is connected within specs. Nice clear sound. With the kicker component speakers, 6x9s, 6.5s, tweets, n 2 12" subs run parallel.

    Goes into protect

    So I bought this amp for my truck it sounds good but goes into protect for no reason, I have made sure that nothing is grounding out and the all the impedance are correct on all speakers. It will go an hour sometimes and then the next in will be within a min.. poor build quality! But I guess thIs what you get for 120.00 bucks. And by the way I did install car audio for several years, at both Quality auto sound and Car toys.

    Surprising performance for the money!

    I've been in to car audio since the mid 1980's and as you could guess, I've owned or used everything from budget gear to high end hi-res equipment. The Planet Audio AC1800.5 is a budget oriented 5 channel class AB amplifier with high/low crossovers, bass boost and a bass remote control. It has a rather large mounting footprint around 10 1/2 inches wide and 20 inches long. This is fairly large compared to today's smaller footprint amps. Now, don't count this amp out if you're on a budget. It shines in a couple of areas. The power output on channels 1-4 is strong enough to run door/dash or rear deck speakers without any drama and will do so very cleanly. The 5th channel is designed to run bass at an ohm load as low as 2 ohms. The 5th channel is strong enough to run 2 4 ohm woofers or a ...

    Its not a KICKER but it will do!

    Overall pretty good product. It truly is a power house for what it is. I personally wouldn't put in like a show vehicle, but maybe my work truck or in this case, bought and hooked up for a friend. It was exactly what he needed to hook his system up. It has 5 channels, awesome crossover, and pretty good apperance. A few dislikes bass knob does not kill bass all the way. No a huge deal but if a cop rolls on you its good to have. My kicker 1200/1 mono block does. Love it! Anyways back to planet audio. When I got it the planet did not light up. Bummer I'm sure I could fix it but I don't want to void my warranty. Overall great deal and would definently recommend!

    Good amp for the money

    Purchased this amp to replace a Logic7 amp with 9 channels in a BMW. Amp performs great and sounds better than the $1,400 OE amp, partially because of the high wattage. The amp does run hot in 2 ohm but hasn't gave me any problems. The only thing I dislike is the massive size which makes it hard to mount.
