Excellent tool steel, sharpens very well (typically use 180 grit CBN, low speed). Perfect starting gouge for the Stuart Batty et al. 40/40 grind and turning method. Holds an edge long enough, but not so pricey that you feel guilty re-grinding the tool to improve your sharpening technique.
