Too many Startett tools are made in China now. Tesa Browne and Sharpe don't even tell you where they're made anymore. It seems a big secret. I buy Mitutoyi because it's still made in Japan. Quick shipping but packaging was poor, one end flap of the self adhesive box was poorly fastened and came open during shipping, fortunately top of box kept the item from falling out. In addition there was no packing material in the box with the item occupying only a third of the space. This resulted in the manufacturer's packaging opening as the item moved around in the shipping box. Fortunately no parts were lost or damage done.
