It features a non-rotating front lens group which makes it easier to work with polarizing filters and has a focus limiter (eg. Full Range; - 9.8 in.; 9.1 in. - 7.4 in.). The Sigma 50mm f/2.8 EX Macro lens also features the new deluxe EX external finish.A handy screw type metal sunshade makes it easier to rotate a polarizing filter.

    Does have some trouble focusing & motor is very loud but if sound doesn't matter, very good lens. Takes pictures in very low light.

    Affordable, sharp and very well build.

    It's an old, but very well made, affordable and usable lens in 2020. Wirh Nikon DSLR the auto focus is relative quick and accurate. In my opinion the picture quality is very good. Really recommended lens for beginners who interest "the world of macro" and amateurs. recommended Lens.

    Very nice lens with excellent macro capability

    This is a great lens for a normal, if you have full frame, or portrait if a DX sized sensor and for macro with reasonable setback distance. Note that the AF will only work on bodies with the focus motor in the body, not the newer ones made for lens with the focus motors in the lens. However, for macro you probably want to manual focus anyway and the focus ring is very nice, with nice grip and it's wide. Goes to f/32.
