About this product

Product Information

The HFS Coaxial Centering Indicator Precision Milling Machine Test Dial includes 23 holes. There are 5 5/8ths to 11-inch threaded holes designed for clamping, and the remaining 18 holes are untapped. You can quickly and easily center when milling and boring using either vertical or horizontal machines. By changing the feeler, you can operate the miller at any angle. While the spindle rotates, the indicator remains in the desired position, leaving both hands free to position the table.

This is only used for picking up a hole , the reading does not reflect how much runout there is.Example reading on this tool is .005 , and the actual reading with a test indicator of hole location may be .002.****** This is a time saver when you can't see the backside reading when picking up a hole to go off of. We use a little mighty mag to keep the arm in place when the spindle is turning.

    Hobby Machinist Co-axial

The grade and quality is perfect for home and most machine shops (price vs quality). Chances are a tool machinist and mitutoyo fan boys will put this indicator down. But for the price mine works within tenths (at least min did) was only .0002" high on one side where the tapped hole for the holder is. While i am sure i can take it to my tool machinist at my work here and get it within μm i think that would be overkill. It's easy to use easy to setup with the 3/8" shank, has good range ±.25 able to tram and make parts within ±.003 on a 3in1, which says a lot.

  • Accurate Indicator nicely finishhed with tight sealing box to protect it

Accuracy checks out well compared to top name brand indicators I own. Has a good selection of curved and straight feelers. User can feel confident they are getting accurate readings if the one I purchased is typical of quality. The instrument is well protected in its own wooden box that has a tight fit to guard against dirt, dust, etc. but I added another layer of foam to the inside of the top and base as the factory box didn't have enough cushioning against an accidental drop. I also applied a finish coat of varnish to outside of box to guard better against humidity or a liquid spill.

  • Works Great Very good price point

I am an owner of a Blake Co-Ax for the past 30+ years of which I really liked but got damaged beyond the cost of repair. Seeing as if I am getting closer to retirement than I care to admit, I decided to spend an amount according to what I thought was worth the remaining years that I have left in my career field as a toolmaker. After taking this HFS Centering Indicator for a few spins around the block, I can say this HFS version has either met or exceeded my expectations as far as quality, performance and value is concerned, and I am quite happy with this purchase. I did an accuracy comparison check with another Blake we have in our shop and they were identical within +- .0002. It is heftier, bigger and feels more solidly built than the Blake. There may be a couple of very minor rough ...

  • Not a Blake, but works well

I have a hobby shop so value is important. This coaxial indicator works well and is fine for my purposes. It isn’t as good quality as acBlake, but for my occasional uses, it works well and is a good value. For the home hobbiest, I recommend this coaxial indicator.

  • Great value.

Really this indicator is selling for half price of the name brand price. But is 7/8ths the quality. Made of good materials. Relatively accurate. Considering the coaxial method is not a very accurate way to indicate in the first place. It's a great buy, and really stand up well to the name brands.
