The battery needs to be routed somewhere else so it can be larger. An hour or 2 on max is not long enough. Then 4 hrs to recharge. A battery pack that would accept a larger battery and easily changed would make more sense. Does take the bite out of cold feet though. I still need foot warmers insife boots or my feet get cold. Would I buy another set? Nope. Not until the almost useless battery is redesigned. Although I work in extreme Canadian North weather.

Don't expect anything like immediate awareness of warmth. These are "long haul" devices that might best be thought of as a way to keep your feet from getting colder. They're supposed to work at around 100 degrees, and since you're operating at 98.6, you're not talking about a great increase in heat. You're also going to want to dedicate these to a pair of slippers, or shoes/sneakers with the insoles removed and the laces loosened. If you have footwear that has always run a little large for you, try these in those. At the price these sell for, I'd do some research to see if they will help you in the manner for which you intend to use them. Perhaps if you're spending a long amount of time standing on cold concrete or hard floors, these might help mitigate the effect. I haven't tried these outdoors yet, but can imagine myself giving them a shot, but I'm doubtful: these are pretty rigid. I'm not sure they'd be comfortable on walks of any distance. Read full review

I purchased the Insoles to wear while hunting. I have not used them while hunting as of yet. I did conduct a trial test in 45 degree weather. I tried the different settings and they worked good keeping my feet warm. Charging the battery is easy and I trimmed a little off to fit my boots. It appears my feet will be warm in any weather this fall and winter. Since my feet get cold faster as I age I think this will make my outdoor winter outings more enjoyable. Seems like a god product.

They do help keep your feet warm. They are not soft and coushiny it takes a few days to get used to. The hot setting will make your feet sweat. A little pricey for lasing only 6hours, but it's better than cold feet for 8.
