    Great hdd, but did not need the mac partition

    While I love the hdd there were some draw backs. Pros: Plenty of space, fit right into my laptop craddle, good price Cons: Came preinstalled with a mac partition which was kinda annoying as i needed a hard drive for my acer. It's speed also varies from time to time.

    Hitachi makes solid drives. Would buy again. A++

    I did a bit of research before buying one of these drives. The fail rate for Hitachi drives is low compared to other brands, and I only paid a few extra bucks. So far everything is good with my drive and the SMART status check out, so we'll see how it goes.

    Recommended HDD.

    Bought this HDD with two main targets: 1) Expand my DV6-2190us from 500GB to 1TB 2) Preventive maintenance to avoid malfunction due to the extensive workloads. My first impression of this SATA 3 HDD was very positive. It keeps its promise of being fast! I am absolutely happy and surely would recommend it to anyone. Long term, hope it can endure the 2 years I am planning for it as my main HDD.
